Aijaz Butt

Head of Projects
As Head of Projects at Shams Power Limited, Mr. Aijaz Butt brings 35 years of extensive experience in project management and field operations. He has successfully led engineering teams for the commissioning of solar PV power plants, with responsibilities spanning site surveys, solar power generation potential assessments, feasibility studies, system design, financial modeling, and cost analysis. His role also involves preparing specifications for solar PV modules and inverters, managing tendering processes, selecting equipment suppliers, and supervising construction and commissioning activities.

Experience at Shams Power

In addition to his work in solar energy, he has a proven track record in overseeing field operations, including managing industrial motor/VFDs, municipality pump-sets, and LT capacitor installation projects. His leadership ensures the efficient use of resources, adherence to budgets, and timely project delivery.

Previously, he served as General Manager Project on USAID’s TWEIP (Tubewell Efficiency Improvement Project), where he guided teams to enhance operational efficiency. He also spent 32 years with Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC), holding various positions in marketing, sales, logistics, and supply chain management, contributing to FFC’s leadership in the fertilizer industry.

Aijaz holds an MBA from Princeton University and a BA in Economics from the University of the Punjab, Lahore. His dedication to operational excellence and project delivery drives Shams Power’s mission to provide sustainable and efficient energy solutions.
